Milpitas: Trojans soccer ends campaign with loss

Published Thursday February 23

With just ten players available to participate on Feb. sixteen the Milpitas High boys varsity soccer team lost 6-1 at Cupertino to end the season.

Coach Bill Leffler stated the match was definitely not the best for the the Trojans and left a bad taste in his mouth regarding the players selected to participate, their dedication to the team and values presented in the signup agreement, as well as communication during the 3 and a half 30 days involvement since tryouts were held.

Left with ten uniformed players, Leffler had to figure out how Milpitas could participate effectively with so few players, no substitutes and keep the match under control while keeping spirits up.
