One of the 4 banks the city of Milpitas uses for short-term deposits is Wells Fargo.

Besides being a too-big-to-fail bank, it is financing the Dakota Access Pipe Line. Those of us who care about the future of the planet are working to stop that ill-conceived project.

Across the nation, people and institutions are withdrawing their money from banks that fund DAPL in an effort to bring sanity to our energy and environmental challenges.

I call upon the Milpitas City Council to follow the example of Seattle and open an account with another banking institution. Then close the Wells Fargo account with a letter that includes the reason for the closure.
